Unsolved crimes and a bridge between past and the present – Signal

After “The Village: Achiara’s secret”, the crime drama lovers have the opportunity to watch another great K-drama “Signal.”
The story of the drama is inspired by a real case, which happened in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Between 1986 and 1991, ten women were raped and murdered.

Describing the cops’ hard, dangerous life, “Signal” comes with an interesting story.
A profiler from our days succeeds to speak (with the help of a walkie-talkie pair) with a cop from the past. The timing is perfect and one night a strange force makes this miracle possible. But, the present begins to change because of some relevant pieces of information communicated by the young profiler to the cop from the past. I think that I’ve seen an American movie with the same story.

The story begins with a girl’s kidnapping followed by her death. A little boy is a precious witness in this case but, everybody chose to ignore him, including the police. Because of this story, the young boy decided to become a police officer.

The young cop role is played by Lee Ji Hoon, completed perfectly by Kim Hye Soo and Cho Jin Woong. The old style filming (a particular technique) succeeds to make the transition between the past and the present in a unique way.
I can’t wait to see the next episodes.
