Programmed to be aired in the first half of 2016, “Cinderella and Four Knights” brings in the foreground a lot of talented young actors. Park So Dam, Jung Il Woo, Ahn Jae Hyun and Lee Jung Shin are the leading players in this modern fairytale. The story of the drama is a modern Cinderella’s story. Eun Ha-Won (Park So Dam) is a high school student who wants to be a veterinarian but needs money for her education. She lives with her father, stepmother and stepsister, and someday a stranger helps her to fulfill her dreams with one condition: she has to live with three wealthy cousins in a mansion named Sky House.
Kang Hyun Min (Ahn Jae Hyun) is a very confident man who does whatever he wants while Kang Ji Woon (Jung Il Woo) is a soft-hearted guy and a rebel member of the royal family. The third cousin, Kang Seo Woo (Lee Jung Shin), is a top singer-songwriter who is gentle and kind to Ha-won. They live together with their bodyguard.
The series will be entirely pre-produced before its premiere. It seems that this is the new trend in the K-drama industry. Until now this practice turned out to be a successful one (see Descendants of the Sun).
The leading actress Park So Dam began her acting career in independent films. This K-drama is her third drama after Drama Special “Red Moon” and “Because It’s The First Time.”
We all know Ahn Jae Hyun from “My Love From the Star,” “You’re All Surrounded” and “Blood,” in which he played his first leading role. He has a sweet innocent face and a voice which gives you thrills. I can’t wait to see his acting.
Jung Il Woo is a great actor and we saw him in lots of historical dramas: “The Return of Iljimae,” “Moon Embracing the Sun” and “The Night Watchman’s Journal.” And these are not the only K-dramas in which he played. You have seen him in “49 days,” “Flower Boy Ramyun Shop” or “Golden Rainbow.”
This story makes me think of “Boys over Flowers,”“You’re Beautiful” or “Rooftop Prince.” I hope that the producers have prepared something unique for us. Otherwise, it will be a great disappointment.
