How lucky can you be when you have to chase a man and try to convince him to spend a night with you? You should be lucky if the guy doesn’t reclaim you for harassment. The story of “Lucky Romance” drama is very simple.
Shim Bo Nui (Hwang Jung Eum) is a superstitious girl who tries to improve her fortune and to help her little sister to come back from her vegetative states. Going to a fortune teller, she finds out that her sister will die if she doesn’t sleep with a guy born in 1986 (the tiger year).
And here appears Ryu Joon Yul, an intelligent man that believes only in science. He is an IT engineer and is opposite to Shim Bo Nui. He doesn’t believe in dating, and it just happens to be born in 1986. He has to employ Bo Nui to get a significant contract and with this occasion, the girl finds out that he could be the guy who can save her from her twisted fate. She will try to make him fall in love with her. He matches the conditions set forth by the fortune teller and tries to seduce him. Unfortunately for her, Soo Ho is a nerd CEO of a game company who trusts only in logical and scientific things.
I love Hwang Jung Eum and her adaptability to playing. She is perfect for comedies. The scene when she is very drunk and hugs every tree and lamp post asking them if they were born in the year of the tiger is incredibly hilarious.
We have the pleasure to see Lee Soo-hyuk again as Choi Geon Wook / Gary Choi playing an active role after the “Neighbourhood Hero” one.
“Lucky Romance” with Hwang Jung Eum and Ryu Joon Yul had the premiere on 15th of May on MBC. The air time is every Wednesday & Thursday at 10:00 pm. Enjoy!
