“Beautiful Gong Shim” – a drama about the perception of beauty

The question is if real beauty exists and if it exists “how can we define it?” People less beautiful would say that the beauty exists in their soul, but I think that the real beauty exists in the way in which the people perceive you. You can be extraordinarily beautiful for that special person and yet an unattractive one for the rest of the world.

Gong Shim (Bang Min Ah) is a pretty ugly girl who had the mischance to be born into the wrong family. Used to live under her sister shadow Gong Shim struggles to escape from her family bad influence. Usually in this kind of melodrama even if the preferred child has everything – beauty, a good job and his/her parents’ love at the end if something good happens to their brother or sister, they will try to take that good thing from them. I hate when this happens.

I love comedies, and this one is very special for me because of Namkoong Min appearance (he plays Ahn Dan Tae / Seok Joon Pyo role). I’ve always been a big fan of him. He is perfect for negative roles (“The Girl Who Sees Smells,” “Remember – War of the Son”) but you cannot stop loving him in the positive ones (“My Secret Hotel”). And even his face is more proper for an angry or a crime scene it is perfect for comedy romantic ones.

On Joo Wan (Seok Joon Soo) and Seo Hyo Rim (Gong Mi) complete the list of the perfect main actors of this drama.

“Beautiful Gong Shim” is an excellent comedy K-drama for the summer time – full of love, beauty and friendship. Enjoy it!
